Whether you seek relief from distress or a journey of self-discovery, I try to provide a compassionate, evidence-based space to help you feel understood and grow toward your most authentic self.
I am a Clinical Psychologist based in Istanbul. After spending my first year of university at the University of Toronto, I returned to my hometown, Istanbul, where I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and later my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
My interest in psychology comes from a deeply human place. I have always been curious about people’s inner worlds — how we hurt, how we protect ourselves, how we long to be understood, and how we can begin to feel more at home within ourselves.
Growing up in a culturally diverse environment and spending my teenage years traveling shaped the way I see people. I was always moved by how much we share as human beings, while each person’s story remains completely unique.
To me, therapy is an extension of my core values: justice, equality, and a deep respect for all living things. In a world that can often feel harsh, unjust, or difficult to make sense of, I believe that choosing to care for our inner lives is a powerful and necessary act. I have a profound love for nature and animals, which reminds me of the beauty in the simple things. My goal is to help you create a life where you don’t just survive, but find genuine balance and daily joy.
I don’t see self-care as turning away from the world’s challenges; rather, I believe that nurturing your emotional well-being builds the resilience you need to show up authentically for the causes and people you value. We have one known life, and choosing to make it meaningful, honest, and livable is a journey worth taking.
In my practice, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and transparent space tailored to your unique story. Our work together aims to move beyond just surviving, helping you find a sustainable balance and a genuine sense of being 'at home' within yourself.
I offer therapy in both English and Turkish.
I believe that therapy is not a 'one-size-fits-all' process. Every person is unique, and the tools we use should be too. My approach is rooted in the belief that while symptoms are what often bring us to therapy, the real healing happens when we look beneath them. I focus not just on the symptoms you are experiencing, but on the underlying emotional needs and attachment patterns that drive them.
In our work together, I view you as the captain of this journey. My role as a therapist is to provide the necessary tools, bring out the map, and illuminate different routes. At times, I may take the helm to give you a space to rest and reflect, but the heart of our progress always depends on a journey of rapport, trust, and cooperation. Whether we are processing past traumas or navigating current life transitions, we will work together to build a secure base from which you can move forward.
