I have been working as a psychologist in a variety of settings for the past 5 years. During this time I've had the chance to work with people from a variety of different backgrounds and circumstances. During this time I was able to see how some patterns were recreated in people's lives without them realizing it. I believe that in order for this repetition to stop a deep understanding of one's past and present circumstances is essential.
Through my training as a clinical psychologist and my work in a psychiatric hospital. I've had ample opportunities to familiarize myself with a variety of therapeutic approaches. While many of these approaches produced results in the short term, I have found that many clients wanted to understand themselves better and that self-exploration provided a lasting change that they wanted.
As a result of this I have mainly focused on working with psychodynamic approach with its emphasis on the unconscious. I am also currently studying in a doctoral program in University of Exeter on Psyhcoynamic and Pychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Hope to hear from you soon!
My work with clients is centered on the idea of self- exploration and its importance. In my opinion, rather than offering quick fixes, therapeutic work needs to offer a person to discover their unconscious over time. To this end I rely on analyzing dreams together with the patient and the process of free association.
