Approach

Treatment Approaches
Existential analysisRecommended for those who are searching for deeper meaning in life or are struggling with big questions about existence, freedom, and purpose.

My therapy approach is existential. Existential therapy evaluates life events from the perspective of existential philosophy. It is holistically concerned with the client's situation in the "here and now" rather than focusing on his past.

The foundations of existential psychotherapy date back to the 1800s. Søren Kierkegaard and Friedrich Nietzsche were the first philosophers whose work was associated with existentialism. Free will and self-responsibility are the two main issues they focus on.

The existential approach in psychotherapy addresses the client as an individual. It aims to make sense of one's own specific experience by connecting it to the world. It is a useful guide for taking responsibility for our choices in life and finding meaning in our own lives.
