I'm a psychoterapist in private practice based in İstanbul, Turkey. I graduated from the Psychology Department at Bahçeşehir University, I completed my master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the same university with a high honors degree. As part of my graduate studies, I conducted psychotherapy sessions under supervision at the BAU Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center. I also completed my internship as a psychologist at the French Lape Hospital and earned my specialization in Clinical Psychology. I actively participate in ongoing seminars and congresses to keep enriching my clinical practice and stay up to date with current developments in the field. Since 2021, I have been working with adults in individual psychotherapy, using a psychodynamic approach to support personal insight and emotional growth.
With this therapeutic approach, the symptoms that cause distress are often seen as defense mechanisms — once necessary and adaptive, but no longer functional in the present. These symptoms can serve as valuable guides, pointing us toward what lies beneath the surface. By understanding them and building emotional bridges, we work together to develop new and more adaptive strategies for coping and growth. As we come to know ourselves better, we also begin to notice changes in how we relate to others—at work, in our families, in romantic relationships, and in friendships. Many of the difficulties we experience in these relationships can start to ease, as our connection with ourselves, life, and others becomes more open and grounded. It’s not always easy to explore oneself and gain insight, but I believe that a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship can make that journey feel possible.
