Originally from Iran, born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, and currently living in İstanbul, Türkiye. Being a 3rd-culture citizen has helped me to deeply connect and empathize with my clients, who may be struggling with the various challenges life has to offer.
After 6 years of work as the lead English-speaking clinical and counseling psychologist at Bahçeşehir University, where I primarily worked with international students, I made the decision to pursue my goal of fully focusing on my priavte practice, offering individual and group therapy sessions to my clients residing in Istanbul and beyond. I have had the privilege of venturing out of the traditional role of a psychologist, speaking at various panels and conferences in various cities (most recently: Yabangee x Bomontiada's Atölye "We Call it Home" Series, and Hope Al Kazar's NIKE-sponsored GurlsTalks event). I am also a monthly-columnist at Yabangee, an English community platform for foreigners navigating life in Türkiye. Additionally, I design mental health initiatives and workshops for various private companies and institutions.
Life has its ups and downs, and sometimes the downs can feel like the lowest low. Life 𝘤𝘢𝘯 be complicated.
So when it comes to our therapeutic process, I prioritize offering my clients a safe, inclusive space, built on trust, compassion, and acceptance. Whether you are seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, want to build stronger and healthier relationships with the significant people in your life (including yourself), and/or would like to resolve the difficulties you have faced in the past, I would like to invite you to a free 20-30 minute session so that we can get to know each other and build your very own healing journey together.
We are multidimensional individuals. This feature allows us to be open to being influenced by prominent factors in our lives, such as our emotions, our environments, our relationships, and even our past experiences. With that being said, my approach differs from client to client, and is designed based on my client's needs and goals they aim to achieve within their therapeutic journey.
I mainly use a psychodynamic approach, alternating between Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My holistic, person-centered approach focuses on my client's strengths and skills as factors that may usually be overlooked but are insightful to my client's progress. As your therapist, I am capable of handling your box of memories we open in our therapy sessions; possessing the metaphorical toolbox that we can use to examine your story together. I will be with you every step of the way, where we explore how we can heal together with curiosity, confidence, and kindness.
