Hello there,
I am a passionate, compassionate, and dedicated therapist. There is sincere joy in my practice, stemming from self-actualization.
Becoming a therapist has been more than just a career choice for me—it is a journey rooted in education, training, and personal growth. I resonate deeply with the Chironic archetype, representing healing and self-actualization. My compassion, empathy, and curiosity are integral aspects of who I am, naturally enriching my therapeutic work.
I hold a bachelor's degree in philosophy, which provided a psychology-rich education. I took numerous psychology courses as well as philosophy courses related to psychology, such as Freud, Jung, and Philosophy of the Unconscious, Philosophy of Mind, and Philosophies of the Self. I consider this education a solid foundation for therapy, as it emphasizes the art of questioning, logic, and perspective-taking, in addition to the scientific aspects of the field.
Afterward, I completed a pre-master's year in psychology at the University of Groningen, one of the world's top 100 universities. I earned an MSc degree in Clinical Psychology from the same institution. My master's thesis explored 'The Effect of Social Interactions on Self-Esteem and Negative Affect in Psychopathy and Narcissism Groups'. Following graduation, I worked at a clinic in the Netherlands before returning to Turkey.
Currently I'm working on a research proposal and trying to develop an implicit assessment of morality.
My practice is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-oriented, prioritizing evidence-based interventions alongside genuine human connection. I deeply value authenticity, co-working, neurodiversity, cultural diversity, and sincerity.
I employ modalities of CBT, such as Exposure and Response Prevention, Imagery Exposure, Gradual Activation, and Prolonged Exposure. I use cognitive restructuring, role plays, psychoeducation, skills training, mindfulness, and more.
In my practice, I place emphasis on the intake session and assessments, with a strong focus on accurate classification and diagnosis. During this initial phase, you can expect a combination of screening tools, diagnostic assessments, and structured interviews. Following this, I adhere to Dutch national guidelines and relevant protocol books specific to the classification and individual picture to ensure the most effective therapy possible. From there, we will curate a treatment plan together. Starting this way might sound tiring but I believe it will save you time, effort, and money in the long run. I will also do a Routine Outcome Monitoring to the possible extent to check the efficacy of the treatment.
As much as I sound geeky, I enjoy humour and have wisdom to know nuances of life. And for some reason, stranger people come and vent to me even when I am just walking on the street :)
For the efficacy of my therapy (as far as I observed), if you committed and finished therapy for 1-2 years, you don't come to me again (because you don't need to).
