I believe in the healing power of the unconscious, symbols and the psyche of each individual, which is triggered by staying long enough in relationship with the psychotherapist and the images and opposites that arise in his/her unconscious. During my studies, I dedicated significant attention to early relational trauma and the concept of complex trauma (C-PTSD by Judith Herman) and its consequences. Among other things, I explored how early relational trauma manifests in individuals and in psychotherapy, as well as how it impacts mental health. Healing the "mother wound" (Webster) often represents a long-term, deep self-exploration, requiring individuals to commit to understanding the root causes of their symptoms. In this process, we frequently encounter concepts such as high sensitivity, various addictions, depression, existential anxiety, inferiority complexes, and low self-esteem. According to numerous studies (Bessel van der Kolk), treating complex trauma is a true "epidemic of modern society." The mother wound is often an intergenerational phenomenon, which is why I am very interested in raising awareness both in Slovenia and in the border region where I live and work. To this end, in 2022, I founded Zavod Epiona - Epiona Institute, a center for lifelong learning through symbols and art.
