Real transformation and revlief comes not because of the chosen theraputic method, but because two people were finally able to connect, relate and see each other.
I came into the field of psychology firstly as a client 10 years ago and since then I've not only undergone major transformations in my life, I also then deepened my knowledge both theoretical and practical in those specialities in psychology where I found myself most interested and useful.
And now having experience and knowledge as both professional and a client, I have deep understanding of my clients' requests, their situations in life, their state of mind and their difficulties and my effectiveness as a therapist doubles.
I the course of these years I received my Master's degree in Clinical psychology and received my certification as Gestalt therapist and CBT specialist.
I have specialty in Co-dependent relationships. (based on both Gestalt and CBT methods).
I have my own private interest in this field, as I've worked on my own co-dependent patterns in my therapy. In my practice I can deeply relate to my clients who come with relationship problems, troubles with boundaries, being seen and appreciated in relationships, with difficulties and vulnarabilities in understanding their own self-worth and making decisions based on it.
My second specialty is "Multi-disciplinarian approach in working with clients with EATING DISORDERS". Needless to say, I can also related to my clients' difficulties and hardships in this sphere as well. I work a lot with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, difficulties in accepting one's body, constant negative self-perception.
I work individually and with couples, who feel deep unhappiness in their private life and are in need and want of introducing some changes.
In my work I combine Gestalt method with CBT and Clinical practice. I'm constantly upgrading my skills and I've been in dinamic supervision for more than 4 years now.
I am a Clinical Psychologist, I work a lot with clinical cases: depressions, sub-depressions, anxieties and anxiety disorders, OCD, Borderline disorder, Eating disorders etc. I've learned how to work in close cooperation with psichiatrists when needed, how to share responsibility and work in the best interest of my client (patient).
At the moment in my work I combine two methods: Gestalt and CBT. As it gives me wider spectrum of opportunities to find the right approach to each client and each sittuation.
In the beginning of the therapy process I use moslty CBT method. CBT is directed towards analyzing behavior and negative thoughts and works towards changing behavioral patterns and thought processes.
Since I work a lot with dependent behavior and similar requests (such as co-dependent relationships and eathing disorders, workaholism, shopoholism, gambling addictions etc) and anxiety disorders, CBT provides fast and effective help with panic attacs and states of high anxiety and hyperventilation.
For deeper understanding and transformation I use Gestalt method (which is the combination of existential therapy, mindfulness, body-focused therapy) that aims at deep understanding of conscious and subconscious processes and conflicts that lead to those difficult situations in life, which a client would like to change.
I love it deeply, as I think it combines the best from all humanitarian methods, you can really go deep in problem-solving and truly "be there for a client and with a client in here-and-now", providing emotional support and understanding, truly emphatic presence which leads to emotional bond between a therapist and a client that is essential to make deep inner changes possible.
Gestalt holistic method deals with all representations of client life and experience: thoughts, emotions, ,feelings, body languge that together lead to subconsciouosness and with the help of therapist can be truly transformative in awaiking awareness and lead to resolution of deep inner conflicts.
A client comes into therapy with already formed perception of himself, with certain behavioral patterns, ideas, principles, world-outlook and with the unconscious ways by means of which he forms and establishes important relationships in his life.
In therapy he may be faced with all these patterns and ways and truth about himself, and most of all – with new attitude towards himself: as therapy relationships, which develop in the course of time between a therapist and a client, is always about acceptance, validation of clients’ feelings and difficulties, support, non-judgmental attitude without evaluation, criticism and accusations.
Instead I, as a therapist, am always interested in my client’s inner state, his life, his motives and together we work towards finding new approach and new way in coping with difficult life situations and emotional states.
In Gestalt, as in any humanistic approach in psychology, a therapist and client work together: rather it's mostly client's work and a therapist is there to help, support, provide sympathy, validation and light up those "blind spots" in client's patterns and ways of dealing with life difficulties.
