Socrates Panayi is an experienced psychotherapist, empathetic and compassionate, practising in both Larnaca and online. After graduating from undergraduate in Psychology (BSc), he continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Derby (UK) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (MSc).
Socrates is experienced in working with anxiety, depression, obsessions-compulsions, addictions, anger, post-traumatic stress, eating issues, bereavement, couples, interpersonal relationships and more. He has worked with individuals of all ages.
Other than his private practice, Socrates is also experienced in offering his services to organizations of different sizes, scales (global & local) and functions. Examples of those are educational organizations, financial organizations, health (hospitals & addiction clinics), start-ups (tech & retail), media (TV, radio, magazines, and blogs) and public organizations (municipalities).
He is willing to offer his services to anyone who may need them.
Socrates begins each session with a strong person-centered approach and an evaluation based on models like BASIC-ID. He uses the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) and, based on that, he utilizes techniques from therapies such as CBT, Gestalt, Systemic and Attachment Therapy.
Above all, he values confidentiality and trustworthiness. In addition, Socrates prioritizes, clients' autonomy, non-maleficence and beneficence. Practicality (being solution-focused) is also part of his approach, as well as sustainability in the results of therapy.
