Hi, I'm Laura and I am a young therapist passionate about helping anyone who feels like they don't quite belong improve their mental health and feel connected to themselves and their environment. In addition, I really love helping people with perfectionistic and people-pleasing tendencies discover their power to be imperfect.
Originally from Estonia, I was amazed to discover just how helpful sharing the inevitable complexities of being human was in my teens. From there, after having been through my own journey in therapy, I decided to follow this career path.
I am an internationally oriented person, having lived in several countries before settling in the Netherlands for a while longer - so I know what it's like to feel out of place in a new environment of culture. However, I am also very grateful for the richness of experience and different perspectives that living away from home have given me - helping me foster open-mindedness and curiosity in my sessions.
In my free time, I enjoy sports such as biking and running, as well as reading, a variety of music genres and creative writing and spending time with animals - all things that fill my cup and help me show up as my best self as your therapist.
My style is integrative and collaborative - I want to empower you to take an active role in your own healing.
As such, I draw from a variety of approaches, including CBT, DBT and schema therapy. As a curious research master graduate, I am also always looking into new opportunities for learning and integrating them into my practice as needed.
The therapeutic relationship is one of the most (if not THE most) important predictors of therapy success - and that is why I am to create a safe, compassionate and nonjudgmental environment. Therapy does not need to feel overly clinical or serious 100% of the time - laughter is very welcome in my sessions.
