I completed my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Crete in Greece and later continued with my Master’s in Clinical Psychology at the University of Leiden. Since then, I have completed various internships and seminars, mainly focused on clinical psychopathology, research, and therapy. Currently, I am in my 3rd year of training to become an Integrative Counselor and Psychotherapist at the European Institute of Counseling and Psychotherapy (EICP).
As a therapist, continuous learning is vital and I always look forward to staying informed about the latest research, techniques, and advancements in our field, to be able to provide the highest level of care and support to my clients.
I decided to study psychology and become a therapist as I always had increased empathy for other people and soon realized how important it is to take care of our mental health. Unfortunately, people tend to notice only what is seen and that’s why they often forget about the importance of how we think and feel!
My ultimate goal is to use my work to help raise awareness about mental health, remove the prejudice that it is surrounded by and help people understand how essential it is to be open and accepting of our psychological issues.
I follow an integrative approach using a variety of different tools and methods, mainly derived from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamics, and Non-Directive, Client-Centered Therapy. However, each client is unique and that means that I adjust my therapy to the specific needs and requests of each client. Regardless of the kind of approach, what is necessary for a therapy to be successful is the relationship you built with your client and that is why I always focus on creating a strong, warm and trustful therapeutic alliance with all of my clients.
As Carl Rogers (1959) stated, “for a person to grow, they need an environment that provides them with genuineness, acceptance, and empathy". That is exactly what I aim to offer in my therapy sessions. Let us start together your journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing, and take that courageous first step towards a brighter tomorrow.
