About me

I often say in sessions that work is a big part of our lives, and so, if we have the chance to do what we love, we will certainly be more fulfilled and happier individuals. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to do what I am passionate about. Even so, my relationship with psychology has not always been easy, and my journey was not always clear to me. Perhaps now, with more maturity, some personal therapeutic processes, personal development, group intervision, supervision, and psychotherapy training, I am able to accept the path I have taken and understand that, even though it was not always linear - whether in choosing the population or the fields in which I have worked - this was MY path. I began my professional journey in hospital and clinical settings, working with children and adolescents through a psychodynamic approach. Later, I directed my path toward areas related to developmental disorders, gaining significant experience in psychological assessment within multidisciplinary teams using a predominantly cognitive-behavioral model. I also worked in the area of substance abuse, both in individual and group consultations, as well as in therapeutic community settings. It was during this period that I progressively and increasingly oriented my intervention toward supporting adults, practicing clinical psychology in organizational contexts. I have learned a lot, challenged myself, encountered different realities, and worked in multidisciplinary teams that have always allowed me to look at the client/patient in a broader and more complete way, as well as to share parts of myself and get to know myself more deeply. The psychotherapy training enabled me to dive deeper into my clinical practice, with greater organization/method, reflection, introspection, and more profound feedback. Still, even recognizing the added value of the tools and techniques I've learned, I continue to emphasize that the therapeutic relationship/alliance is, for me, the most important and rewarding aspect. It is what has given me the greatest return in my work and the certainty that I am on the right path.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Couples therapySupport for couples working through problems and who want to gain insight into the relational dynamics that contribute to the problem.
Group therapyRecommended for those who want to work through their challenges in a supportive group setting and learn from others who share similar experiences.
Holistic approachRecommended for those who want to address their mental health through a balanced focus on mind, body, and spirit.

For me, being a clinical psychologist is a journey of discovery, of others and of ourselves. It means accepting the challenge of walking alongside someone, sharing in both their vulnerability and strength. It is a commitment to ongoing development, to active listening, empathy, and respect for the complexity of the human essence and experience. Although there are multiple therapeutic approaches and techniques, the relationship between psychologist and patient remains the essential core of clinical practice. This bond is built on trust, empathy, and respect for each person's individuality. In this safe, nonjudgmental space, the patient can explore emotions, fears, and hopes, allowing for profound change—or even simply feeling secure and confident in accepting what cannot be changed.
