I completed my Doctoral studies and the beginning of my career in Ireland, where I am from. I work both in my therapeutic practice and also in the circus.
Over the past ten years, I have cultivated a career that focuses on using the practice of psychology for positive change. I believe that therapy is a collaborative, creative process. I work that should enrich the lives and wellbeing of each person.
I work with people who care deeply about the world around them. The people I work with tend to be passionate and have a strong sense of justice. My clients often experience anxiety, fear and struggles with how they are versus how they feel they should be.
The focus of my work is with emotion, particularly the fear, grief and shame that this world inevitably brings up in us.
I am blessed to have had training in a variety of therapeutic approaches. I work collaboratively with each person to create a shared understanding of the core of their current distress. Together, we fuse my therapeutic skills and their expertise in themselves, to forge a new path forward. I incorporate Compassion-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and other schools of thought as appropriate.
In a first session, I work with a person to understand their particular needs and how we can work well together.
