About me

I am Aleksandra Tsenkova, a counselling psychotherapist and coach. I specialize in a person-centred approach, integrating dialectical behavioural therapy and coaching techniques to suit the individual needs of my clients. My goal is to provide supporting and accepting space that helps my clients achieve a deeper understanding and acceptance of themselves, as well as develop the skills needed to navigate various life challenges.

Originally from Bulgaria, I completed my entire education in the United Kingdom, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, along with diplomas and certifications in psychotherapy and coaching. I work remotely with clients worldwide, tailoring my approach to the unique cultural and personal backgrounds of each individual.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Person-centred approachRecommended for those looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can lead the conversation and explore their feelings at their own pace.

My approach to therapy is primarily person-centred, which means I believe in the inherent potential of each individual to find their own path to growth and healing. In a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space, I work collaboratively with clients, allowing them to explore their thoughts and feelings freely. This approach respects the client's autonomy and values their lived experience, fostering self-awareness, personal growth, and empowerment.

I also integrate elements of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) when it aligns with the client's needs. DBT is particularly effective in helping clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving interpersonal relationships, and increasing emotional regulation. By incorporating mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation techniques, I aim to equip clients with the tools needed to navigate life's complexities more effectively.

Additionally, I bring coaching techniques into my practice, which can be beneficial for clients seeking to achieve specific goals, overcome obstacles, or make positive changes in their personal or professional lives. This integrative approach allows me to adapt to the unique needs of each client, combining therapeutic depth with actionable strategies for meaningful progress.

Stuck? Join the club. We stay stuck in bad places. We gingerly touch our scars, defend ourselves. We try not to feel our fears and end up not feeling ourselves. Ignore the knot in the stomach. It will go away. Chin up.
