Counselling Psychologist & Psychotherapist with a PhD in Refugee Mental Health. Originally from India, I now live and work in the UK and have extensive experience supporting a diverse range of clients across cultural and ethnic backgrounds, as well as a wide variety of clinical presentations.
I work with clients experiencing adversity, trauma-spectrum difficulties (with keeping in mind the difference between adversity and trauma), interpersonal and family-related challenges, and those navigating their familial or religious identities. Relationships with groups, families, religion, and faith can be complex, and individuals often feel isolated or misunderstood. I support people from all walks of life in exploring what this means for them and how to navigate these challenges within their relationships and everyday life.
I also work with individuals in couple relationships, helping them explore their own identities while understanding how they contribute to their couple dynamic. I recognise that couples from different cultural and faith backgrounds can sometimes face unique challenges and dilemmas, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where they feel safe to explore these experiences without judgment or pressure.
In addition, I am passionate about supporting students, professionals and immigrants as they navigate challenges related to life stressors, education, employment, a sense of loss of home, and experiences of internal displacement.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to explore whether we might be a good fit to work together.
