About me

I am an integrative psychotherapist and the founder of Navío Counselling & Psychotherapy, where I provide a grounded, supportive, and affirming space for individuals to navigate their inner worlds. The name "Navío" refers to a vessel or ship, reflecting my belief that therapy is a collaborative journey of navigation. Whether you are struggling with a specific crisis or a general sense of being stuck, I work with you to uncover the unconscious patterns—rooted in your past and your relationships—that may be influencing your present. My approach is supportive yet challenging, meaning I provide the safety needed to explore deep-seated shame or fear, while gently encouraging the insights necessary for meaningful change. My practice is deeply informed by my identity as a queer person, my multicultural background and a prior career in marketing and communications within the charitable and educational sectors. This background, combined with a BA in Sociology and an MA in Psychotherapy, allows me to view your challenges through both psychological and systemic lenses. I understand the unique pressures of high-stress work environments and the complexities of living between different cultures or identities. Having worked internationally, I am particularly attuned to the nuances of belonging, identity, and displacement. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish and am committed to LGBTQIA+ affirmative, sex-positive, and Kink-allied practice. I have extensive experience working with clients on issues ranging from relationship challenges and childhood trauma to workplace stress and racial identity. By examining the parts of yourself that feel unheard or misunderstood, we can work together to gain clarity and move toward a more authentic way of living. I currently see clients online and in person at my practices in Islington, Hackney, and London Bridge.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Humanistic psychologyRecommended for those looking for a therapy that emphasizes personal growth and self-fulfillment, focusing on becoming your best self in a positive, non-judgmental space.
Integrative therapy Recommended for those who prefer a flexible approach that combines different therapies to meet their unique needs.
Psychodynamic therapyRecommended for those looking to explore their emotions deeply and understand how past experiences shape their present life.
An Integrative Approach: My way of working is “integrative,” which essentially means I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. Each individual brings a unique history and specific needs to the room. To meet these, I draw from a range of modalities—primarily psychodynamic and humanistic therapies. In practice, this means we look at the “here and now” of your life while also exploring the unconscious patterns and past experiences that may be keeping you stuck in repetitive cycles. A Space That is Supportive Yet Challenging: I describe my style as “supportive yet challenging.” Therapy with me is not just about having a sympathetic ear; it is an active, collaborative process. I provide a secure, non-judgmental “vessel” (the Navío) where you can express parts of yourself—such as deep-seated shame, fear, or hidden desires—that might feel too risky to share elsewhere. However, I also believe that growth happens when we gently confront the truths we’ve been avoiding. I will encourage you to look closer at your defence mechanisms and the ways you relate to others, helping you gain the clarity needed to make different choices. A Systemic & Multicultural Lens: With a background in Sociology and experience working across different cultures, I don’t view your struggles in a vacuum. I am highly attuned to how external systems—such as your workplace, cultural heritage, racial identity, and gender or sexual orientation—impact your internal well-being. Whether we are discussing the pressures of a high-stakes career or the nuances of living as a queer person or an expat, I am interested in how the world around you has shaped the person you are today.

Experience

I work in private practice as an integrative psychotherapist, providing services in English and Spanish, across London and online. I have clinical experience working for a charity providing sexual and mental health support to queer people and minoritised communities. My psychotherapeutic career is enriched by over a decade of experience in communications within the charitable and educational sectors.

Education

I am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP) and hold an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, as well as a BA in Sociology. To further specialise my practice, I will undertake a two-year Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy at the Contemporary Institute for Clinical Sexology (commencing in March 2026).
