Hi, my name is Chloe, and I am a UK-based therapist and counselling psychologist in the final stage of training. I take a psychology-informed approach in counselling and am dedicated to support my clients.
I am a bilingual therapist and psychologist. I primarily work in English, but also happy to offer counselling in Mandarin Chinese. I am trained to doctorate level in psychology in the UK and take a psychology-informed approach to counselling and psychotherapy, integrating psychological science with relational and compassionate therapeutic practice.
I have a track record of helping clients overcome emotional/psychological difficulties and challenging life situations through compassionate and effective therapeutic interventions. I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, psychosomatic symptoms, public speaking difficulties, intense mood swings, relationship difficulties, intimacy issues, break-ups, limerence, divorce and workplace issues such as stress and burnout. I embrace a fully inclusive ethos in my practice and have achieved great results working with clients from a wide range of different backgrounds using a culturally sensitive ,LGBTQ+ and neuro-affirming approach.
Therapy is fundamentally a purposeful conversation, and my conversational style is warm, intuitive and insightful. In therapy, I practice active listening, and I ask thoughtful questions that prompt deeper reflection and understanding. I believe insights emerge through active dialogue, and our conversation will be guided by the following three key objectives:
Clarity - I will support and guide our conversation in such a way that you will gain more clarity in your speech and thought patterns. The renewed clarity will also help you to become more aware of your automatic/reactive thoughts and behaviour patterns and prompt you to re-evaluate them and act more intentionally going forward.
Purpose - Through our conversation, I will help you to identify and unveil you core values and what matters to you most, so you can go on living a more meaningful life; guided and anchored by your core values and beliefs.
Transformation - Our conversation is just a starting point, and I am dedicated to supporting you translating the insights gleaned from therapy into real, tangible benefits outside the therapy room. I see real change in your life outside the therapy room, being the ultimate marker of the success of therapy.
My approach to therapy is friendly, supportive and engaging. I offer therapy both online and in-person. I practice integratively and draw on a range of therapeutic modalities such as CBT, Psychodynamic and Existential Therapy.
I am happy to work either in a short-term, intervention-focused way or a more long-term, open-ended style. The choice is yours, and we can discuss the different ways of working at the start of our work together. I am committed to regularly reviewing the progress of the therapy with my clients and always looking for ways to enhance the clients' experience and ensure a supportive ending is in place when the time to end therapy is right.
I have experience working in Primary Care and Community Counselling, EAP and low-cost counselling. I have been running my private practice in the last two years.
