I am an English and German speaking Psychotherapist registered with the BACP, currently undertaking a doctorate in Psychology in the UK.
Having been born in Germany and having lived, studied, and worked with people across several countries, I am deeply committed to offering a culturally sensitive and inclusive therapeutic space. I recognise that there is no single approach that fits everyone; each person’s story, context, and emotional landscape are unique. My work is grounded in a humanistic and relational approach, with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of meaningful change. I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental and confidential space where you can feel safe to explore whatever feels important to you. I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches and adapting our work collaboratively to suit your needs, preferences, and goals. Together, we clarify what you hope to gain from therapy and adjust our focus as your process unfolds. You are the expert on your own experience. I bring psychological knowledge and therapeutic tools, and we work together in a collaborative, compassionate and respectful way.
Since the very beginning of my career, I’ve worked with adults, young people, and families across a range of concerns, including low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, imposter syndrome, burnout, trauma, existential questions, loss of motivation, and challenges with boundaries or self-esteem. Alongside my experience in Organisational Psychology and Psychiatry, I’m particularly aware to the pressures professionals face in high-demand environments and the impact this can have on well-being and identity.
I have trained in several therapeutic approaches, and the ones below are those I connect with most and use regularly in my practice. I often make use of tools rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), such as challenging thoughts and exploring core beliefs with you. I am further trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which supports emotion regulation and distress tolerance. Drawing on Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), it can be helpful to explore how our minds have evolved to protect us, and how cultivating self-compassion can help restore balance and soothe shame and self-criticism that is all so common in our fast-paced, high-achieving society. I integrate techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), such as “dropping anchor,” and other somatic exercises that help connect with the body, as we often store stress and emotion physically. ACT also emphasises exploring values and purpose, which can be a helpful exploration during times of grief, chronic illness or an existential crisis. In addition, I value relational work, using the relationship between us in the here and now to gain insight into patterns that may also appear in your relationships outside therapy. All the listed approaches allow me to offer flexible, evidence-based support that honours both your individuality and our shared human experience.
