I am an accredited psychotherapist and a professional supervisor.
Barrister turned therapist:
I enjoyed representing people in court but I also wanted to understand them better, to help them understand themselves. Choosing to re-train in psychology felt daunting in 2010 but led to finding my professional tribe.
Therapy:
I work with adults and deliver therapy online or walking outdoors. I have Signal, Zoom, etc. for those living further afield in Vienna, Kuwait, Malaysia and China.
Issues:
As well as anxiety and depression, I have worked with addiction, adult survivors of child abuse, adverse childhood experiences, alcohol dependence, bereavement, codependency, employment problems, polyamory, prescription drug dependency, self-esteem and trauma.
Outside of therapy:
As a life-long theatre-lover, I was delighted to be recruited in 2019 to perform for the Donmar Warehouse theatre. I have subsequently performed on four stages in London. In 2026 I joined The Old Vic theatre storytelling workshops.
Performing arts led to a masters course in 2021 in Creative Health at UCL, studying the contribution that arts and nature make to good health and health recovery. I live inside Hampstead Heath, so my back garden is 800 acres! Walking therapy provides psychotherapy with health bonuses: exercise, time in nature, bilateral stimulation and opthamological health.
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, I’m proudly internationalist with personal connections to Sweden, Ireland, Turkey, Singapore, Pakistan, Austria and I’ve worked abroad in Malaysia and Sudan.
