I’m İrem Yılmaz, a psychologist specializing in sports and performance psychology. I hold a BA in Psychology, a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, and a Master’s in Sports and Exercise Psychology from Real Madrid University. This training allows me to integrate both clinical and performance-focused approaches to mental health.
Professionally, I’ve worked with athletes across various age groups and levels—from children in tennis clubs to national-level teams—helping them enhance focus, manage performance anxiety, and build mental resilience. I’ve also supported students in educational settings, providing psychological guidance in club activities and competitive environments. My experience in both individual and group settings has strengthened my understanding of the psychological demands of performance and the critical role of mental well-being in achieving personal and athletic goals.
My therapeutic style is warm, structured, and collaborative. I work with clients by creating a safe, non-judgmental space where they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with clarity and self-compassion. I value a holistic perspective, taking into account the connection between mind and body, and how personal history, current challenges, and individual goals intersect.
Depending on the needs of the client, I draw from evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and motivational techniques. I believe in helping individuals build self-awareness and resilience while also offering practical tools to manage stress, improve emotional regulation, and support personal growth.
