About me

After living overseas for two years, I am now based in my home country Australia, working as a psychologist online with clients in both Australia and Europe. I am passionate about providing online services to ensure that everyone has access to high-quality psychological support regardless of their means. I have lived and travelled in many different countries, which has given me the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures, and learn from others. It was during my travels that my passion to help refugees was ignited. During my free time, I volunteer with NGOs providing support to refugees and internally displaced people, and recently completed a contract in Türkiye, where I developed and facilitated psychosocial programs for Syrian refugees. My background is in Forensic psychology, where I worked with incarcerated adults from various backgrounds struggling with severe mental health issues, substance abuse, addiction, anger management and complex behaviours. During my time working in prison, it became apparent how difficult childhoods and unresolved trauma were more often than not the predisposing factor leading to incarceration. This has significantly impacted the way I work with individuals, as I try to understand their difficulties within the context of early life experiences. I now work in private practice, helping clients with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, self-esteem, stress, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and personality disorders.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Schema therapyRecommended for those who want to break out of negative patterns or "schemas" that they developed early in life and keep repeating.
My approach is centered around creating a safe and supportive therapeutic space, and I enjoy building long-lasting and meaningful connections with individuals, knowing that this can be a catalyst for a successful experience in therapy. I believe that everyone has the capacity to change and grow, and my aim as a therapist is to create a positive and collaborative experience for individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts and experiences. I believe in the importance of understanding the influence of past experiences on present patterns and behaviors. By integrating psychodynamic concepts such as unconscious processes and early attachments, I help clients gain insight into their underlying dynamics, and help them reshape dysfunctional beliefs which are holding them back. I prioritise assessing individuals thoroughly in order to tailor a treatment plan that is based on their individual needs. My main modalities are Attachment-Based psychology, Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). However I also draw on various other modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Ultimately, my goal as a psychologist is to empower individuals to create long-lasting change that transforms their lives, cultivates self-acceptance and resilience, and improves their relationships.
