Narrative-collaborative therapy from a trauma informed perspective online or in-person in CDMX.
Everyone’s life is unique. Therapy with me is a space to explore your experience at your own pace, without judgement.
I am a white British cisgender woman. I grew up in the UK and have spent much of my adult life living overseas. I have lived in Mexico for the last 5 years.
I have 15 years of experience working in mental health settings, including inpatient wards, prisons, and humanitarian contexts.
I am a volunteer therapist at the low-cost single session therapy clinic run by Casa Tonala. I also offer psychosocial support as a volunteer at an NGO for people on the move, and at a public psychiatric hospital in the outpatient unit.
I have extensive training in postmodern therapy, including:
Narrative Therapy
Collaborative Therapy
Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
Single Session Therapy
I have trained with UNAM, Casa Tonala, La Universidad de Las Americas (UDLA) and Pranas Chile.
I also hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manchester and continue to be actively involved in research, ensuring my practice is evidence based and grounded in current theory. I am currently also studying an MA in Systemic Therapy at UDLA in Mexico City to further refine my therapeutic approach.
I try and make therapy as flexible and collaborative as possible, because no-one’s life is the same and everyone’s story is unique. You are the expert in your life. Your therapy sessions are your space to feel listened to and to talk about the things that you want to talk about, whatever that might be.
My role is to have conversations together that can open up new ways of seeing things that can also change how we feel and how we approach situations.
I don’t provide diagnoses, but I’m happy to support you if you have one.
I have 15 years of experience working in mental health and delivering therapy. This has included public health services (such as psychiatric hospitals), humanitarian settings, and private therapy, as well as offering long-cost single session therapy as a volunteer with the collective Casa Tonala.
