About me
I am a MSc psychologist and qualified counselor with strong academic background including a Master's degree in Psychology and double international Honour's degree in Law. I have an extensive expertise of counselling approaches and their application as well as a proven track record of individual/couples/group counselling and facilitation over more than 10 years.
While gaining my academic foundation, I have developed a deep understanding on how human behavior, thoughts and emotions influence mental health and well-being. I have many years of experience in working with anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship, carrier, burn out, trauma, loss & grief, rape, HIV and addiction with clients of various cultures. I use evidence-based practices to counsel my clients and constantly pursue to work on my further professional development and stay in touch with the latest research in psychology.
Originally, I come from Slovakia, I lived in Germany, France, The Netherlands as well as in Canada and currently I practice in South Africa. Living and working in different countries equipped me with profound understanding of cultural and individual diversity, to stay open to different beliefs, multiple ways of living and the unique challenges expat face first-hand.
I am a full member of Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA) and of British Psychological Society (GMBPsS).
