Peace begins when we make space for conflict. I offer a safe space to explore your personal conflicts, struggles and questions. I believe that moments of crisis and uncertainty are opportunities for growth.
I am Dorothea Hyneck, a clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist. My journey in the field of psychology has taken me across borders, from my roots in Germany to my academic pursuits in Belgium and specialized training in Ireland. Today, I offer a diverse range of services to support individuals and families on their unique journeys.
I graduated as a Clinical Psychologist at KU Leuven University in Belgium. Subsequently, I pursued specialization in psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Ireland, where I earned accreditation with the Association for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis Ireland. My commitment to professional growth led me to embark on specialized training in areas such as Lacanian psychoanalysis, trauma therapy, couples therapy, and student counseling. These experiences have equipped me with a diverse set of tools to address a wide spectrum of psychological challenges.
I offer a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients: • Individual Therapy: I work with adults and teenagers, providing a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your questions, discomforts, or struggles. Together, we navigate the "here and now" as well as delve into the "there and then," uncovering both evident feelings and their unconscious drivers. • Parental Consultation: I work with parents who seek guidance on how to navigate challenging situations with their children or who feel uncertain about parenting. I provide insights and strategies to help parents overcome the challenges they are facing.
As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I am here to accompany you through times when there are more questions than answers. I tailor each therapy journey to your specific situation and pace. While I typically engage in long-term therapy, I also offer short-term solutions, depending on your individual needs and preferences. No matter what kind of questions or discomforts you have, all of them are worth it to talk about. I am going to be a careful listener for whichever concern you will bring into the session.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to your personal growth. Therapy can be a transformative journey that can empower you to lead a more fulfilling life.
