My therapeutic style is an active, collaborative, and integrated blend of neuroscience, cognitive-behavioural psychology, schema therapy, compassion focused therapy and co-active coaching. At the heart of my work is a core belief in human potential, and that we have everything in us in order to design and be the best version of ourselves.
I combine the depth of psychotherapeutically strategies with the energy of coaching to help you gain a deeper understanding of your past, through the lenses of an adult, and create space and freedom, between triggers and reactions.
Here is a breakdown of how I work with clients:
1. We Build a Foundation of Understanding & Compassion
Here is an overview of your therapeutic style, written in the first person, based on the professional profile you provided. This is designed to be used on a website or professional directory.
My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic style is an active, collaborative, and integrated blend of deep psychological counselling and forward-focused coaching. At the heart of my work is a core belief in championing human potential. I've built a dual career over 17 years—one in organizational leadership and HR, the other as a clinical psychologist—and the common denominator has always been the individual at the centre of it all.
I combine the depth of therapy with the energy of coaching to help you understand your past, take charge of your present, and design a more fulfilling future.
Here is a breakdown of how I work with clients:
1. We Build a Foundation of Understanding & Compassion
Our first step is to create a safe, non-judgmental space. I believe one can build lasting change only on an foundation of self-acceptance. We'll use the warmth and evidence-based techniques of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to help you develop a kinder, wiser, and more supportive relationship with yourself.
From this compassionate base, we'll gently explore the "why" behind your challenges. Using principles from Schema Therapy, we will work to identify the deep-rooted, life-long patterns ("schemas") that may be keeping you stuck—in your relationships, your career, or your self-perception.
2. We Equip You with Practical, Evidence-Based Skills
Understanding is essential, but it isn't always enough. My core training is in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which provides a practical, "here-and-now" toolkit for change.
As we work together, you will learn to:
- Identify and challenge the negative thought cycles that fuel anxiety, depression, or grief.
- Develop new, healthier behavioural strategies to manage difficult emotions.
- Break down overwhelming problems into smaller, manageable steps.
This part of our work is highly practical, skills-based, and focused on helping you feel better, sooner.
3. We Focus on Action and Your Future
This is where my coaching background becomes a powerful asset. Our work isn't just about managing symptoms; it's about building the life you truly want.
Drawing from my Co-Active Coaching training and my background in leadership development, we will:
- Clarify your personal and professional values.
- Strengthen your "presence" and confidence in all areas of your life.
- Create an inspiring, actionable plan for your career, relationships, and personal development.
What to Expect in Our Sessions
I am an active and engaged therapist, not a "blank screen." You can expect our sessions to be a dynamic and collaborative. I will listen deeply, provide structure, ask challenging questions, and champion your strengths.
Whether you are coming to me for psychological counselling to heal and understand, or for coaching to build and achieve, my ultimate goal is the same: to support YOU in understanding, designing, and living the best version of your life.
