Coaching and counseling stem from life long learning and teaching, disciplines as old as society. I have found, through my travels in the world, that openness to learning is a life force for change. Living in countries like Angola and Afghanistan has taught me deep humility and appreciation of humanity. Humans are resilient but sometimes need the key to unlock their own healing. I aim to help find the key. My background in mental health dates from my earliest career as a counselor to adolescents to my most recent profession as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My hope is always to help people achieve internal peace, greater self confidence and healthier relationships. I am trained as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the US, having obtained my Masters in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry, including all modalities of psychiatric treatment. Counseling, coaching and support are the cornerstone of my journey to improved mental health in my clients.
My approach incorporates many styles, methods and modalities; it is a collaboration and client led. My aim is to help my client reduce the triggers that impede joy and personal goals. Together we investigate the problems that prevent positive self-esteem, we seek to reduce anxiety, and release trauma from the body. The goal is to learn to appreciate oneself and improve communication with others.
