Inner Work Mentor supporting people through change, loss and life transitions with a body-oriented, compassionate and holistic approach focused on self-awareness, authenticity and embodiment.
I’m IZA – an Inner Work Mentor, journalist, movement teacher and musician.
My work brings together body awareness, emotions, thoughts and personal development. I support people in reconnecting with themselves, their bodies, their emotions and their own sense of direction – especially during periods of change, transition, loss or personal transformation.
Rather than asking, “What is wrong with me?”, I often start with a different question:
“What is happening inside me right now – and what do I need?”
My work is particularly suited to people navigating breakups, grief, identity changes, periods of inner restlessness, or moments when an old version of themselves no longer feels authentic.
I work with meditation, somatic practices, movement, reflection, biographical work and creative approaches. Where appropriate and welcomed by the client, intuitive practices, card readings or Reiki can also become part of the process.
My background as a journalist strongly influences the way I work: I listen carefully, ask questions, remain curious and look at experiences from different perspectives.
I don't believe that people need to be turned into a “better” version of themselves. I believe we can learn to listen to the different parts of ourselves, understand what they need, and reconnect with what feels authentic and alive.
My work is body-oriented, holistic, compassionate and grounded in meeting each person where they are.
I see Inner Work as an ongoing process involving the body, emotions, thoughts and our sense of self.
We can understand something intellectually and still feel something completely different in our body. That is why I don't work exclusively through conversation or cognitive reflection. I invite the body into the process.
Body awareness helps us notice sensations, tension, relaxation, boundaries, energy and needs without immediately judging or trying to change them.
Emotional awareness allows us to listen to emotions without automatically letting them dictate our actions. We explore what an emotion might be communicating and what may lie underneath it.
Thoughts and beliefs can reveal patterns that were once useful but may no longer reflect who we are today. We can explore these beliefs with curiosity and ask: Is this actually my truth today, or something I learned somewhere along the way?
I also work with the idea of inner parts. We can contain many different parts of ourselves – an anxious part, a controlling part, a perfectionist, a wounded part, a playful part, a curious part. These parts don't necessarily need to disappear. We can learn to listen to them, understand their needs and develop a different relationship with them.
Transitions are another important part of my work. Loss, separation, personal transformation and spiritual development can all challenge our sense of identity. I see these periods not simply as problems to solve, but as processes that can create space for a new relationship with ourselves.
Spiritual practices may be included when they feel meaningful to the individual. My approach is open and non-dogmatic. Intuitive readings, tarot and Reiki can be complementary tools rather than replacements for professional medical or psychotherapeutic care.
My role is not to have all the answers for you. It is to help you hear more clearly what is already there.
I have many years of professional experience working across journalism, communication, events, movement, creative work and personal development.
As a journalist, I work with research, interviews, observation and storytelling. My previous professional experience also includes communication, PR, social media, events and community-focused work.
Alongside journalism, I work as a movement and meditation teacher, offering Yoga, Pilates, Face Yoga, fascia work and meditation. My classes combine movement and body awareness with mindfulness and self-reflection.
As an Inner Work Mentor, I support people through periods of change, grief, separation, identity transitions and questions around authenticity and embodiment.
My experience also includes Berlin's club and festival culture, where I have worked creatively with makeup and costume and in festival care contexts alongside awareness, medical and security teams.
All of these experiences inform the way I work today. I enjoy moving between social reality and inner exploration, between body and mind, professional structure and creativity.
I have a strong academic background, holding a Master’s degree in Journalism, Media and Globalisation from the University of Amsterdam and Aarhus University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Political and Administrative Sciences from the University of Konstanz.
I have complemented my academic education with specialised training in ThetaHealing®, Life Coaching, Meditation, Holistic Health, Event Management, Somatics, Contrology, Fascia Release and psychological trauma work.
My most recent training focused on security and conflict training, as well as exploring different states of consciousness and ego states. This further deepened my understanding of human behaviour under stress, emotional regulation mechanisms and transformative developmental processes.
Today, I bring these different perspectives together in my work: critical and journalistic thinking, body-oriented practices, personal development and spiritual exploration.
