Through my experiences, I became aware that all of conflicts, contradictions and uneasiness that humans create are the reflections of their own self. I have always tried to understand what makes behaviour abnormal. As a person who has been raised in an interdependent culture, I detected that people have difficulties on keeping a balance between their culturally taught strict values and the values that they adapt as they get to know the different cultures of the world. This is why they experience anxiety and depression. I believe, my ability for critical thinking, observation and desire to solve psychological problems gets to a point that leads a decision to understand human behaviour.
I use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Schema therapy in my therapy sessions. CBT is designed to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns. I believe changing thinking patterns help patients to live high quality life as how we think affects how we feel and behave. I also use Schema Therapy which consists cognitive techniques as well as guided imagery and role play techniques. I believe, clients can achieve best results in therapy when we use a combination of these two therapy approaches.
