Hello! My name is Sophie. I offer English-speaking Solution Focused therapy, counselling and coaching. I trained as a Clinical Psychologist in the UK and I’m registered in the UK with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am currently based in Paris where I work in person and online as a therapist/counsellor ("psychopraticien") and coach.
I worked for the NHS in London for over 8 years, with adults and children experiencing mental and physical health difficulties. My main areas of interest are working with children and young people, and also parental mental health/parenthood.
I now offer in person sessions in Paris and online sessions for English-speakers based in France, the rest of Europe and the UK, to support mental health and wellbeing using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, an evidence-based short term therapy. My work with children and young people is in person only.

I have been trained to use a number of different therapies and have seen their different benefits which is I'm delighted to be able to offer you sessions based on Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I know from the evidence-base and clinical experience that this can help you move forward in your life, effect change quickly and help you cope in even the most difficult circumstances.
All therapies involve developing a meaningful relationship with your therapist. But while many therapies have an "archaeological" approach, that is going back into your past experiences, or a "problem-based" approach looking at what is going wrong for you, the Solution Focused approach shifts the conversation to helping you identify for yourself your own best ways forward, in real and manageable ways.
Our work together will help you identify the changes you want to experience in the future, and what could help make them happen. It's a transformational approach which is forward-looking and very practical. And it's cost-effective - many people see changes in their life from only a few sessions, and often only need between 5-8 sessions spread out over a number of months before they decide that things are going well enough to stop meeting.
