Life can sometimes be unexpectedly challenging. I offer an empathetic and genuine space to work collaboratively to gain understanding. I am based in Paris, 75016, and offer therapy in English, in person and online.
Life experiences may include loss, trauma, and other challenges that can feel overwhelming at times. Therapy offers a space to explore these experiences safely, at your own pace, and to make sense of how they have shaped you.
My work is rooted in the belief that people have the capacity for change and growth when they feel supported and understood. Over the years, I have developed a deep respect for the transformative potential of psychotherapy in helping individuals navigate difficulties and reconnect with themselves.
I am originally from Ireland and trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist both there and in the U.K. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherpy (BACP).
I have an interest in what it is to live and work abroad. I recently completed a research project that explored the experience of living and working abroad through a psychotherapeutic lens. I examined the emotional and psychological challenges individuals face when relocating to a new country, as well as the strategies and inner resources that support adaptation and well-being during this transition. I understand the difficulties of moving to a country with a different culture and language. I have also lived in Australia and America and now live in France.
I facilitate a monthly maternal support group in Paris that is for those who are expecting to those who have small and more grown-up children. Parenting can make us feel stressed, low in mood, and anxious, which in turn can make parenting difficult. Sometimes, a little bit of support is needed in these circumstances.
I work using an integrative approach. I am based in Paris 75016, in-person as well as online in various different countries. I have extensive experience in treating mental health conditions. I offer a warm, empathetic and confidential space where we can work together to better understand your thoughts, emotions and experiences.
I work with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, confidence, low self esteem to deeper emotional struggles and trauma. I am also experienced working with depression and generalised anxiety disorders. Therapy is always client centred to your individual needs, pace and goals. Whether you are going through a life transition, adjusting to living in a new country, questioning identity, or simply feel ready for change, our sessions provide a supportive environment to explore what matters most to you.
My therapeutic style is relational and integrative. The integrative approach allows me to adapt to your individual needs. I can draw from evidence based approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic perspectives and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I also integrate elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am currently undertaking a 6-month IFS-informed training with the IFS Institute (USA). I work relationally, which means that through the therapeutic relationship you are supported to explore and understand how early experiences and past relationships may influence your present difficulties. Sometimes talking alone is not enough. Alongside traditional talking therapy, I also use a more mindful, body-focused approach that helps you tune into physical sensations and emotional responses. This can support the processing of emotional pain and past traumatic experiences that may still be held in the body.
Through greater integration of mind and body, unresolved experiences can be understood, healed, and transformed. Helping you gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies and move forward in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your specific needs and see if I'm the right fit for you.
