I have finished both my BA and MA studies at the University of Pécs. I did my MA studies in Counselling and School psychology, mainly because of my previous interest in counselling, and furthermore because the course was known for it's focus on gaining practical experience. During my training I have worked with elementary school students, high school students, and adults, some of which were university students. During my practicum I have worked with both self-report inventories, as well as projective tests such as drawing tests. I aim to implement different methods based on the need and comfortability of my clients to provide them with the help they need. Due to my studies I have gained both theoretical and practical experience in individual counselling, group counselling, career counselling, school psychology and skill training. As a beginner psychologist I believe in continuously learning and growing both as a person and a professional, while also helping others in their self-recognition and self-development. In my view even the smallest steps can make a significant difference, and I aim to escort others on their path.
In my practice I take a person-centered approach. From my perspective everyone is capable of development and change, as long as they are in a safe and supportive professional environment, in which they are treated with no judgement, and with respect. I view clients with unconditional positive regard, providing them with space to openly exlore and express their own feelings, and taking steps towards the person they want to be. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods, which are focused on the connectivity of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. These methods help to recognise and change the thinking patterns and behaviours of people that can lead to problems. With this approach clients are provided with strategies to combat these negative thoughts and behaviours. I also use other general counselling techniques based on the need of the client, developing a plan tailored to the person's goal as well as preference.
