I help people, mostly when they feel anxious, lost, or overwhelmed by self-criticism, emotions, or relationships, who are seeking clarity and relief.
I am a licensed psychologist in Portugal (OPP No. 31348) and have been practicing since 2017. I mostly work with young adults (not only), immigrants, and expats, and I am an immigrant myself. Although I live in Portugal, I work only online. Many clients reach out to me for their first experience with therapy, or after a previous experience that did not meet their needs.
I believe it is important to acknowledge the world we live in, including challenges like wars, political repression, and social and economic pressures, as these factors can affect our mental health. I want to help people find hope in a world that can sometimes feel hopeless.
In my work, I try to create a safe space that feels calm, adaptable, and thoughtful. I do not use a strict or directive approach, so my sessions are flexible and shaped by your needs, which we will discuss together. During my studies, I focused on how people shape their futures and how queer people experience coming out. I use evidence-based methods in my practice.
My background includes work and volunteering in NGOs, schools, and mental health centers. I am a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) and the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST, No. 85727311). You can find more information on my website: vlad.pt/en

I combine three evidence-based methods to support meaningful change. Together, they help uncover and transform the deep emotional patterns behind how we think, feel, and act. They also give structure to our work, guiding us to build practical solutions with a focus on the future. Finally, they strengthen your ability to accept difficult experiences, stay flexible, and move toward what truly matters.
It’s important for me to be flexible in how I work and to adapt the process to you (where needed). Along the way, I value humor, interactivity (virtual boards, experiments, homework), and honesty.
