I am originally from Slovakia but I consider myself a native English speaker. My academic journey began when I moved to Prague in 2013 and began studying medicine for two years, which sparked my deep interest in the human mind and led me to pursue a career in psychology.
I spent six years studying psychology at the University of New York in Prague, where I earned two bachelor's degrees and overall graduated with a master's degree in the field. This diverse educational experience has given me a broad perspective on psychological principles and practices.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a different cultural environment by living in Germany for two months, The United States for one year as well as having travelled to many countries across the globe. My international experiences have enriched my understanding of various cultures, further equipping me to support clients from diverse backgrounds.
My psychological approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a highly effective, evidence-based treatment that focuses on identifying and altering negative thought patterns and behaviors. I believe in a collaborative and structured process where we work together to uncover the thoughts and beliefs that influence your emotions and actions.
Through guided discovery, practical exercises, and action plan, I will help you develop healthier coping strategies and cognitive tools to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other challenges. My goal is to empower you with the skills to challenge and change unhelpful thoughts, foster resilience, and create lasting positive changes in your life. This personalized, goal-oriented approach not only addresses current issues but also equips you with the techniques to handle future challenges independently.
The Person-Centred Approach, on the other hand, emphasizes creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your feelings at your own pace. It’s rooted in the belief that you have the capacity for self-healing and personal growth when provided with empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard.
Having lived abroad for over 10 years, I understand the challenges of adapting to a new environment and culture. Whether it's understanding cultural differences, managing homesickness, or building new routines, together we will discover healthy adaptive strategies that will help ease your transition.
