I work with children aged (7+), young people, adults, couples and families. I am uniquely skilled with an extensive degree of experience treating PTSD, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Panic Disorders, Depression, Self-Harm, Suidical Ideation and Bipolar issues.
I view my role as a therapist as a mirror to you, and our therapeutic relationship as an act of reflection that can only happen in the unique setting of therapy, which is private and dedicated entirely and insistently to you.
During our time together, I will try to listen to you deeply and to reflect back to you the questions -and the answers- that you are formulating about your life and about your difficulties so that you can see yourself in new or more nuanced ways. I try to help you make contact with parts of yourself that have become disconnected or to illuminate patterns and obstacles that may be outside of your recognition.
If you can take the chance to bring into our work the self-doubt, shame, stress, loneliness, or anguish that underscore your problems, the process of therapeutic reflection can help you find your way to a life that is more free, more engaged, and more meaningful to you.
You can be free to bring anything you wish into therapy (including your thoughts and feelings about therapy itself) and expect to be helped to see yourself more clearly so that you can make decisions about what you seek to change. This process of self-understanding and choice-making ultimately leads to the amelioration of the symptoms of your distress. If by learning about my work from this site you think I might be the right therapist for you, I look forward to hearing from you.
If you're here, you're probably past due for honest conversation about the innermost parts of yourself.
We believe in treating the whole person by offering a range of therapeutic services and by offering a choice in which counsellors you believe would best suit your needs. The therapists' working here have chosen to work together not only because we like and respect each other, but because we feel our various skills and years worth of experience complement each other.
We offer clients the space, security, and encouragement that’s needed to explore experiences from the past and help to understand how deeper parts of the mind can impact daily functioning.
We will work collaboratively with you to help you make sense of your emotional and behavioral patterns, gaining a clearer picture into your present way of being.
Together we can begin to explore your problems with greater flexibility and curiosity, identifying both obstacles and strengths, as well as ways of coping.
Guided by deep, attentive listening, we can help children, adolescents and adults manage emotional volatility and distress, improve and deepen their relationships, and build a stronger sense of self.
