I support people facing anxiety, stress and personal challenges of all sorts. I take a professional but warm approach to sessions, working together with clients to establish positive change that actually sticks.
Hello! My name is Delyan Kirov. I am a psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. I am originally from Bulgaria and have lived abroad for many years, including in Jordan and the Netherlands, which has shaped my perspective on different cultures and life experiences.
I currently offer psychological counselling in English and Bulgarian, working with clients from diverse backgrounds. I also speak conversational Dutch and can incorporate it when helpful.
I meet clients in my practice in Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as online.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, difficulties in relationships, as well as those facing life transitions, uncertainty or relocation/adjustment to new environments. I also support individuals who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, struggle with self-esteem, or are seeking greater clarity, direction, and a stronger sense of stability in their lives.
In my work, I aim to provide a supportive, structured and encouraging space where clients can better understand their experiences, identify unhelpful patterns, and develop more adaptive ways of coping. My approach is collaborative and practical, drawing from cognitive-behavioural and client-centred perspectives.
I view the client as the expert on their own life. My role is to work alongside them—to offer perspective, highlight blind spots, and support them in finding what works best for their unique situation.
Alongside insight, I place strong emphasis on practical tools and strategies that clients can apply in their daily lives, supporting lasting change beyond the sessions themselves.
My professional experience includes work in supported mental health care in the Netherlands (Stichting Cordaan), as well as clinical internship experience in a psychiatric setting in Bulgaria.
I currently work with clients in my own psychological practice, providing psychological consulting & counseling for a range of psychological and life challenges.
