Counseling is a special calm space where you can allow yourself to find the answers to whatever you are struggling with. As a therapist, I am here to hold that space for you, and to accompany you during the process.
English- and German-speaking psychotherapist using psychodynamic approach, but also familiar with client-centered and CBT-based (DBT, ACT) approaches. I believe that as a mental health care provider, my job is to stay flexible and to help you find what works for you. I have the most experience working with people suffering from anxiety, trauma, depression, stress and burnout, and dealing with life changes and transitions. I also have extensive experience treating people who suffer from severe dental fear and I have been active as a volunteer for the worldwide biggest support forum for people who are scared of the dentist. I speak English and German and I am happy to provide sessions in any of these languages. You can meet me online or in person in my practice in Stolberg.
If you feel like we could be a good fit, I would love to get to know you. I promise to do my best to create a comfortable atmosphere and to provide you with professional and competent help. If you are not sure yet, please feel free to reach out with questions at any time or schedule a free meet-and-greet chat so that we can figure out whether you would like to work with me.
If you are publicly insured in Germany, the sessions will be payed for by your insurance. Please note that a regular part of the sessions will have to take place in my office in Stolberg then. If you are privately insured, the cost of sessions is based on the GOP (Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten) and you will be able to turn it in to get it reinbursed. If you have any questions about this, feel free to get in touch.
Therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your mind. You know yourself the best. I on the other hand can serve with knowledge, experience, and the willingness to get to know and understand you. While we get to know each other, we can together take a look at where you would like to go and which paths could take you there. As everyone has a different communication style, needs, and preferences, I intend to treat all my clients in an open, non-judgmental, and respectful manner and to do my best to find an approach that works for you and that helps you to master whatever challenge you may be currently facing. If starting therapy feels like a daunting task, rest assured that I understand and that I'm committed to take the time to gradually build the trust and safety necessary for you to feel comfortable with me.
