I am a Persian-Afghan psychologist raised in the Netherlands from the age of four. With a background in both Social Work and Health & Medical Psychology (MSc, Leiden University), I bring over six years of experience in the Dutch specialized mental health care (Specialistische GGZ). My work is enriched by my bicultural identity and deep understanding of both Western and Eastern perspectives.
In addition to my clinical work, I have a creative and educational background—I’ve performed in theater productions and lectured at the University of Applied Sciences in The Hague. I currently divide my time between the Netherlands and Asia, allowing me to stay connected to global perspectives and diverse client populations.
My therapeutic style is kind, empathetic, and intuitive, always attuned to the client's tempo and emotional space. I use a collaborative approach to identify core issues and goals, offering a safe space for healing. At times, I incorporate gentle but direct confrontation to help clients break through patterns and move forward. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based techniques, including EMDR, CBT, Schema Therapy, ACT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy, adapting my interventions to best suit each individual’s needs.
