I am a psychology graduate and holder of a Master's Degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In addition, I have been trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Hellenic Centre for Mental Health and Research. In addition, I have undertaken adult psychotherapy in various mental health facilities as well as in my office. Currently I am employed at the Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas, and hold my private practice as a psychologist in Thessaloniki, treating adults with relationship problems, panic attacks, psychosomatics, compulsions, anxiety, depression.
Through my work as a greek and english-speaking psychologist in Thessaloniki, I seek to help the client to understand "why" they are experiencing symptoms of mental distress, such as intense anxiety, depression, panic attacks, psychosomatic distress, obsessive-compulsive disorder or relationship problems. Once we explore and develop an understanding on the root causes of the client's difficulties, we then begin a process of jointly exploring how change can occur. I use our therapeutic relationship as a compass for understanding how the person in therapy is blocked in their relationships with others in their life (friends, lovers, work) and how they might begin to relate in new, more fulfilling ways. My goal is to facilitate each client to face what is holding them back and find new ways of leading their lives, setting aside their inner barriers.
