I am a professional Counsellor based in Nothern Italy and I following the Carl Rogers approach of Person-Centered Counselling. I have a private practice together with other professional in the health and wellbeing sector where I meet clients in person. As an Italian national who has lived in the UK for five years, I have experienced firsthand the challenges and transformations that come with living abroad. During my time in the UK, I experienced what it means to navigate cultural adjustment, identity shifts, and emotional resilience. This personal insight allows me to connect deeply with clients and support them with empathy and cultural sensitivity. During my placement I have collaborated with various entities in the social and non-profit fields. My goal was to diffuse the importance of mental health, of talking about our feelings and be open to listen to our intuition and deep needs.
I follow the humanistic approach of the Person Centered Counselling, that emphasizes the individual's inherent capacity for growth and self-actualization. This approach is based on the belief that people have the ability to find their own solutions to problems when provided with a supportive and non-judgmental environment. I did not only "study" and practice this approach, but this approach is part of me. It's the way I see the world and the way I relate to life. The foundations of my approach are: Unconditional Positive Regard: accepting and respecting the other without judgment, creating a safe space that can facilitate the client's self-exploration. Empathy: understanding and reflecting the client's feelings, fostering self-awareness and emotional healing, while being strongly rooted and connected to my own emotions. Congruence (Authenticity): being genuine and transparent at all times. Rather than directing and giving advice I encourage clients to explore their emotions, values, and experiences. I empower individuals to achieve personal growth, greater self-acceptance, and improved emotional well-being.
