My name is Mayra Pachado, and I bring a rich cultural heritage with both Brazilian and Argentinian roots. Since 2017, I’ve called the Netherlands my home, and I understand the unique challenges of adapting to life in a new country. This personal experience, combined with my professional training, fuels my deep commitment to supporting individuals through mental health issues with compassion, empathy, and respect. As a psychologist, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings while working toward improved well-being.
In my practice, I employ a range of evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Process-Based Therapy (PBT). I am a Certified Specialist in CBT, with over 600 hours of training and 120 hours of supervision.
These diverse therapeutic approaches allow me to tailor treatment to your unique needs, ensuring personalized and compassionate care. I also specialize in healthy aging and the prevention of brain and mental health disorders, helping clients maintain well-being and build resilience over time.
I hold a PhD from Maastricht University, in the Netherlands, where my research focused on dementia, neuroscience, pharmacology, and personalized medicine. I also have two Master’s degrees: one in Cognitive Neuroscience and another in Psychology, specializing in substance use disorders. With over 10 years of clinical experience, I bring a blend of scientific knowledge and practical expertise to my practice, ensuring that I can offer well-rounded, holistic care.
By combining my clinical training with my academic expertise, I aim to help you develop healthier coping strategies and foster emotional well-being in a way that aligns with your cultural background, values, and personal goals.
