Social worker and Counselor specializing in family, couple, and sex therapy. I offer a culturally sensitive, reflective space informed by cross-cultural living and continuous training.
Hi, I’m Elmira, a social worker and counselor from Iran currently living a nomadic lifestyle across different countries. I stay in each country for one to three months, which allows me to deeply experience and learn from different cultures rather than just observe them from a distance.
This lifestyle has strengthened my ability to understand clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and to practice culturally sensitive empathy. I believe that some forms of emotional pain are deeply shaped by culture, and truly living within a culture gives a much deeper understanding than simply hearing about it.
As an old Persian saying goes: “شنیدن کی بود مانند دیدن” — Hearing is a shadow; seeing is the truth.
One thing my clients often tell me is that they feel accepted and never judged in our sessions. I strive to create a space where you can truly be yourself, feel safe, and grow. I don't see people as broken—I see them as individuals with strengths and potential that may simply need the right support to emerge.
In our work together, we'll explore how your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviors. Since our thoughts often shape feelings like anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, learning to recognize and reshape unhelpful thinking patterns can lead to meaningful and lasting change.
I would be honored to work with you through your uniqe journey.
My therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Couple Therapy (CBCT), with an integrative focus on family, couple, and sex therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to understand the interaction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors within their relationships and personal lives.
In therapy, I aim to create a safe, structured, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore current challenges, communication patterns, and relational dynamics. Together, we work on identifying unhelpful cycles and developing healthier, more effective ways of relating and coping.
I place strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and the influence of broader social and cultural contexts on relationships and emotional well-being. My approach is practical and insight-oriented, while also being warm and supportive.
As a continuously trained professional, I regularly update my knowledge through academic study, specialized training, and clinical learning to ensure ethical and effective practice.
