About me

I am currently on hiatus. Please contact one of the other great colleagues here! Thanks for your understanding.

I would describe myself as approachable, understanding and empathetic. I have an open mind and am very interested in understanding my clients' perspectives and life worlds as best as possible, because only then can I help effectively. After all, it’s about the clients’ real-life situations and their goals.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
ACT: Acceptance and commitment therapyRecommended for those who want to stop fighting negative thoughts and learn how to live with more acceptance and focus on what really matters in life.
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
CFT: Compassion-focused therapyRecommended for those who want to be kinder to themselves and reduce negative self-talk, often using mindfulness techniques.

Focal point of my work is the empowerment of my clients and supporting them in (re)discovering their own resilience, self care and self efficacy skills. I work resource oriented and with a humanistic point of view. Conveying psychoeducative information and working with the clients as equals is important to me.

Coming from a cognitive behavioral background I will support you in finding out which thoughts and behavioral patterns aren‘t helpful anymore. We will explore from where these originate and create new ones together. Verbalizing your emotions and needs is something we will do on a regular basis. It is also always helpful to practice how to communicate these to other people.

Further topics that are important to me because of my own biography (born in Peru, raised in Peru/Austria/Germany) are: intersectionality, migration and cultural sensitivity. I will try my very best to offer a safe and benevolent space. That includes holding space for humans living within different frameworks of gender identity, relationships and sexuality.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You don’t even need to know exactly what the problem is or what you need help with — that’s something we will explore and understand together.
