Accomplishments: - Provided individual and group counseling for opioid-dependent clients seeking both medication-assisted treatment and non-medication-assisted treatment. - Conducted prescreens, intakes, and psychosocial assessments of new clients. - Provided substance use and mental health services using evidence-based practices at Reset Clinics, Beirut, Lebanon. - Delivered counseling, case management, and psychoeducation to clients with mental illnesses and substance use disorders. - Supported service users with psychological disorders (i.e.autism, psychosis, OCD) and learning disabilities. - Founded and facilitated mental health support groups for crisis intervention amid the COVID–19 pandemic within a safe, non-stigmatizing, and welcoming environment. - Built a local community/network of 55K individuals interested in psychology in order to raise awareness about mental health, and to destigmatize the topic and the practice.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. It may seem confusing at first, but ACT paired with mindfulness-based therapy offers clinically effective treatment. After all: Running away from any problem only increases the distance from the solution. The easiest way to escape from the problem is to solve it. Medical conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, addictions, and substance abuse can all benefit from ACT and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
