I have lived in the UK for over 30 years and have also spent time living in several different countries. I am multilingual and particularly interested in the psychological experience of living across cultures and languages. Many of my clients come from different parts of Europe and are navigating relocation, expatriate life, or the experience of belonging to more than one cultural world. These situations can bring both richness and complexity, often raising questions about identity, home, continuity and a sense of loss.
I first qualified as a psychotherapist in 2010 and have since worked with adults and groups in both clinical and academic settings. For six years I was the Director of the MSc Psychodynamics of Human Development, a programme run jointly by the British Psychotherapy Foundation and Birkbeck, University of London. I am currently a trainee in Jungian analysis.
As a parent myself, I am interested in the psychological task of parenting. Parenthood can be a profound emotional transition that brings questions about responsibility, identity, and family patterns. In my work I am attentive to transgenerational dynamics and the complexities of growing up in a fragmented family and world.
I work with dreams which can offer a meaningful way into the deeply personal.
Therapy offers a space for you to speak freely and begin to shape your own story in a confidential and non judgemental environment.
I am BPC accredited membership number: 47980
I offer counselling and psychotherapy both online via Zoom and in person in North London and Hertfordshire. We can think together about what feels most suitable for you.
My work is grounded in the psychodynamic tradition. This means that our conversations are not limited to immediate difficulties, but also consider the wider context of your life - including past experiences, important relationships, and the emotional patterns that may shape how you experience yourself and others. Often, present concerns become more understandable when we look at them in relation to earlier experiences and the meanings they carry. There is not set agenda for the sessions.
Sessions usually take place once or twice a week at a mutually convenient time. Together we can reflect on what brings you to therapy and find a pace that supports a meaningful and attentive process.
