About me

Psychosomatic Restoration: For Minds That Don't Turn Off Talking is only half the story. If you’re a high-performer, or an expat navigating the intensity of urban living, you know that stress doesn't just stay in your head. It shows up as a racing heart, "wired-but-tired" exhaustion, or that constant feeling of being "always on." I’m Lisa—a BABCP-accredited therapist with a foundation in clinical research from UCL and King’s College London. I don’t just offer "talk therapy." I specialize in Psychosomatic Restoration: a science-backed approach to help you bridge the gap between your mind, your body, and your nervous system. Why "Just Coping" Isn't Enough Most of my clients are highly ambitious, but they’ve hit a ceiling where their physical health or sleep is starting to pay the price. We won't just analyze your past; we will decode your nervous system. My Toolkit combines Clinical Rigour with Somatic Strategy: Nervous System Reset: Moving you out of chronic "fight-or-flight" and back into your baseline. Performance & Anxiety: Breaking cycles of overthinking and "imposter" stress. The Expat Lens: As an expat myself, I provide therapy in English and German, navigating the unique psychological landscape of building a life abroad. Body-Mind Symptoms: Addressing how burnout manifests physically—from sleep issues to chronic tension. The Science Behind the Work My approach is informed by my time as a Researcher at the UCL Stigma Research Unit and my work with United Nations (UN) projects. I bring a global, holistic perspective that integrates psychological recovery with the reality of high-pressure environments. Let's get you back to your baseline. Based in Shoreditch (E1) and Online. Approach

Treatment Approaches
ACT: Acceptance and Commitment TherapyRecommended for those who want to stop fighting negative thoughts and learn how to live with more acceptance and focus on what really matters in life.
CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
CFT: Compassion-Focused TherapyRecommended for those who want to be kinder to themselves and reduce negative self-talk, often using mindfulness techniques.
My Approach: Clinical Excellence meets Somatic Insight Psychotherapy is about more than just managing crisis—it is about understanding the deeper patterns that shape your life, your relationships, and your well-being. As a BABCP-accredited psychotherapist, my work is rooted in clinical evidence. However, I believe that for therapy to be truly transformative, it must address the whole person. While we use the structured, goal-oriented framework of Cognitive Behavioural approaches, we also look beneath the surface at how your history and your nervous system interact. Deep Therapeutic Focus I specialize in helping clients navigate the complexities of: Relationship Patterns: Understanding how anxiety and past experiences influence how you connect, communicate, and feel secure with others. Trauma & Resilience: Working with the "body's memory" of difficult events to move past chronic states of hyper-vigilance or emotional numbness. Anxiety & Overthinking: Breaking the loops of 'what-ifs' by combining cognitive restructuring with physiological grounding. The Clinical "Mind-Body" Connection In our sessions, we don’t just "talk about" the problem. We explore the biopsychosocial architecture of your distress. If you feel that your stress has become physical—manifesting as exhaustion, tension, or a "wired" nervous system—we work to restore the dialogue between your mind and your body. Is this the right fit for you? My practice is designed for those seeking high-quality, professional psychological support: The Expat & Professional: Navigating the unique pressures of living abroad, career transitions, and the "always-on" culture of London. The Relationship-Seeker: Anyone struggling with attachment anxiety or recurring patterns that hinder emotional intimacy. The Trauma-Informed Client: Individuals looking for a safe, science-backed space to process past experiences without staying "stuck" in the story. What to Expect: A Collaborative Journey Therapy with me is active and collaborative. We map out your unique "Mind-Body Loops" to understand why you feel the way you do, and then we build a bespoke toolkit for your restoration. Assessment: Identifying the core beliefs, relational patterns, and triggers driving your distress. Regulation: Learning immediate, clinical tools to stabilize your nervous system. Resolution: Working through the root causes to build long-term psychological resilience. Next Step: I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to discuss your history, your goals, and how we can work together to help you regain your baseline.
