About me

My path to becoming a psychotherapist has been shaped by a lifelong interest in human stories and resilience. Before transitioning into clinical practice, I spent over 20 years as a journalist and editor for UK publications like The Guardian, at the same time as co-running a small European Parkinson's charity. These roles gave me a unique perspective on the pressures of high-stakes professional environments and a deep commitment to social justice and inclusion. I understand the "real world" challenges of navigating career transitions, workplace stress and the search for meaning in a fast-paced world.

Alongside my private practice, I have significant experience working within a hospice setting. Supporting clients through the profound landscapes of grief, loss and life-limiting illness has been foundational to my work. This background allows me to offer a steady, compassionate presence for those facing existential concerns or major life changes. Based in Sevenoaks and London, I provide a safe place for clients to explore their inner lives, drawing on my broad professional experience to offer a grounded and human presence.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Gestalt therapyRecommended for those who want to focus on the present and take responsibility for their feelings and actions to promote personal growth.
Humanistic psychologyRecommended for those looking for a therapy that emphasizes personal growth and self-fulfillment, focusing on becoming your best self in a positive, non-judgmental space.
Transactional analysisRecommended for those who want to understand and improve their interactions with others by exploring the roles they take on in relationships.

My therapeutic style is grounded in Humanistic and Gestalt traditions, which means I prioritise the "here and now" of our relationship. I don’t view therapy as a process of "fixing" a problem, but rather as a collaborative exploration of how you experience your world. My work is relational and embodied; I encourage curiosity about what is happening in the room and within your body, helping you to put words to feelings that may have been hidden, dismissed or difficult to express.

I work creatively and holistically, often looking at the roles we have learned to play and the patterns that might leave us feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Inspired by ecotherapy, I also value the connection between our mental well-being and the natural world. Whether we are working through trauma, anxiety or relationship difficulties, my goal is to provide an inclusive space where you can move at your own pace. I am committed to making therapy accessible, which is why I offer a fair sliding scale model, ensuring that professional, high-quality support is available to all members of our community.
