About me

Hello, I’m Valerio Alessandri, a psychologist and counsellor and art counsellor, registered with Ordine degli Psicologi in Italy and BACP in the UK.
I have always been passionate about personal growth, and even beyond my professional work, I have always enjoyed supporting people as they move through relationships, change and personal development.

I am Italian, from Rome, but I have lived in the UK for 8 years and China for a few months, and now I am back in Italy, but this time in Milan. I have changed cities, careers and hobbies, partners and friends, exploring myself as I moved through the ebbs and flows of life. My roots have moved as I grew up and my life perspective has shifted, as I have slowly learned to know myself better and to be in touch with my vulnerability, as I move towards a more authentic version of myself.

My life experiences have put me in touch with diversity and change, and this allows me to welcome clients from any background, as I am genuinely curious about understanding the feelings, beliefs and life stories of any human being.

Creativity plays an important role in my practice. Alongside counselling, I have artistic background, including experiences in singing (I am also a vocal coach and songwriter) and in the arts more broadly. Because of this, I have studied art counselling, allowing me to use artistic tools with my clients, when this may suit the process.

I deeply believe that everyone carries the inner resources needed to engage with life and transform difficulties into opportunities for growth. I bring together everything I have learned through life and training to support those who wish to discover and develop their inner resources, and to choose a life that feels more aligned with who they truly are.

In my work, I can support you in taking practical steps towards a life lived with greater freedom, authenticity, and harmony. Together, we can develop tools and resources to help you experience deeper fulfilment in your relationships, your work, and your everyday life.

If you are looking for support during a time of change, or if you would like to explore new ways of living in greater harmony with yourself and with those around you, I am here to support you.

Send me a message and let's chat, to see how I can help you in improving your quality of life.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Clinical psychologyRecommended for those who need help with diagnosing and treating more complex mental health issues, often involving assessments and evidence-based treatments.
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
Holistic approachRecommended for those who want to address their mental health through a balanced focus on mind, body, and spirit.

There may be different reasons why you may be looking for counselling. Whether you are looking to improve your relationships, navigate life changes and choices, develop confidence in yourself, or deal with emotional distress, I offer a supportive space to help you gain clarity and improve your quality of life through an integrative approach.

I have a gentle, mindful and compassionate approach. I work at your pace and adapt my approach to suit you, drawing on humanistic, relational, and creative ways of working.

As a counsellor, art counsellor, and musician, I bring creativity into the therapeutic process when it feels helpful and appropriate for you. This may include conversation and self-reflection, mindfulness, immersive techniques, family constellations, as well as creative tools such as writing, movement, or voice work, to support exploration and open up to new possibilities.

Within a safe and supportive space, we will explore your story, notice and reflect on how your ways of relating emerge in your life in our sessions.

If you feel ready to take the next step, I would be glad to walk alongside you.
