My approach is primarily based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but I strive to tailor my methods to meet the individual needs. The name "acceptance and commitment therapy" conveys an essential message: accept what is beyond your personal control and commit to actions that enhance your life. ACT is not just about talking. In our sessions, I will invite you to try different practices to help you learn new coping skills to overcome the challenges you are facing, and we will work together to explore better ways to handle all the difficulties you encounter.
In our sessions, You can expect a warm, person to person, confidential, non-judgemental and safe environment where you can freely express yourself and work through challenges such as anxiety, relationship issues, anger, trauma or low self-esteem to name a few. Our shared goal is to find inner balance and empower you by learning new skills to manage difficult emotions and strengthen your ability to navigate your life effectively. I believe in the power of the self and the inner resources you have that support you to manage challenges.
In my professional role, I have the privilege of meeting individuals from diverse backgrounds, ages, and experiences. I recognize that each person is unique and faces their own set of challenges.
For some clients, I support them in reflecting on their life journeys and identifying potential changes that could enhance their fulfillment. I truly believe that this process of introspection is valuable, and I have great respect for the courage it takes to engage in such open and responsible self-examination.
Many of my clients come with deep emotional wounds, and I approach these situations with empathy, working collaboratively to help them heal emotionally and physically. My aim is to assist them in navigating life with less pain from their past.
For others, our work focuses on developing self-care skills and creating consistent routines. We celebrate their progress and improvements in daily habits together.
When addressing relationship issues, I make it a point to appreciate the client's dedication and willingness to acknowledge their role in the partnership, fostering a collaborative atmosphere rather than placing blame on the other person.
I also offer psychological assessments that provide insights into cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and reasoning, as well as personality traits, emotions, and overall psychological health. These assessments address specific referral questions and result in a written report. Please note that psychological assessments can only be conducted during in-person meetings.
