I have been qualified and working in the field of social work and probation for 18 years. I am currently finalizing my training to become a systemic family therapist in supervision in July 2021.
I worked in a number of social work teams in Romania and England and I am practicing as Independent social worker since 2017. I experience in completing various assessments and intervention using multiple assessment tools, both in social work and criminal justice; I have experience in writing reports for Courts, such as Special Guardianship Order Reports, Form A – BAAF Adoption Reports; Form F foster carer assessment reports and Parenting Assessment reports.
I have acted as a consultant for the Troubled Families programme and team around the family approach supporting colleagues to complete assessments based on a systemic approach, taking into account the family dynamics and family needs; my broad experience gave me an overview of various adults and children services which helps me to put together a robust proposal for intervention; I have delivered accredited programmes that have a structured and evidence based assessment process (i.e. delivering parenting programmes and assessing the impact) skills that I have later transferred into completing my assessments. I have worked in both statutory and non-statutory social work services; I have assessed and worked with both adults and children (especially teenagers).
It is my belief that most life challenges steam from our relationship with our self and others and our attachment plays an important role in the way we relate to others. I am also of the view that we found our way in the world by trying to make sense of our life story and dominant narratives. In my assessments and intervention I use a systemic approach, combined with narrative therapies and strategies to identify the feelings and how our relationship with our bodies influence our moods. I use an integrative approach and adapt it to suit individual and family needs
