How do I start therapy in Basel?

You contact a therapist directly. There is no referral to arrange and no assessment to pass, so the first step is choosing someone whose format and language suit you and sending them a message. Most therapists treat the first session as a chance for both of you to see whether it feels like a fit.

Are there therapists who see clients in person in Basel?

Our format filters will show you exactly who is available in person. If nobody local suits you, online therapists can usually see clients wherever they are based.

Is online therapy as good as meeting in person?

It suits different people differently rather than being better or worse. Online removes the question of commute and gives you far more choice of language, approach and specialisation, and sessions can continue if you move or travel. Meeting in person suits people who want a clear separation between therapy and home.

What does private therapy in Basel cost?

Each therapist sets their own rate and shows it on their profile, so the cost varies from profile to profile rather than following a fixed local price. You pay the therapist directly. Rates and session lengths are both listed, which makes it easier to compare before you get in touch.

How are the therapists on It's Complicated checked?

Every therapist on It's Complicated is verified before their profile goes live. Since qualifications and professional registers differ from country to country, the exact requirements depend on their professional title and where they're based. Here's how our verification process works. Each profile also shows the therapist's qualifications and training, which is worth reading alongside their approach and rates before reaching out.
